It's a season-long Denver Broncos football squares pool. One 10×10 grid means 100 squares. You own one square, pay a $100 buy-in, and play it in every Broncos game — the whole regular season, the playoffs, and the Super Bowl. 100% of the money is paid back out to winners; there's no fee and no house cut.

• Get a square. Pay your buy-in and pick one square on the grid. It's yours all season — and it stays yours every year you come back.
• Fresh numbers each game. Before every game, the digits 0–9 are randomly drawn along both edges of the grid.
• Last digits win. After the game, the last digit of each team's final score points to the winning square. No owner on that square? The prize carries over and grows.

The commissioner (Karl) adds you to the pool. Pay your $100 buy-in, and you'll be given a priority number. When your turn in the draft comes up, you pick any open square on the grid. If the pool is already full, add your name to the waitlist and you'll be emailed the moment a spot opens.

Yes. Every dollar that comes in is paid back out to winners by the end of the season — no fees, no rake, no house edge. The Super Bowl clears out whatever is left so nothing carries into the next year.

Not really. Your square wins based on the last digit of each team's score, which is essentially luck — you don't predict anything or make picks each week. Set it and follow along.

No password — sign-in is passwordless. Go to the sign-in page, enter the email the commissioner has on file for you, and check your inbox. You'll get a 6-digit code and a magic link — enter the code or click the link, either works. Codes and links expire after 10 minutes.

Check your spam folder first. Whitelist noreply@mail.karlbonitz.com and karlbonitz@msn.com with your email provider, then request a fresh code from the sign-in page. If several tries fail, email the commissioner — you may be using a different email than the one on file.

Sign-in codes and magic links expire after 10 minutes, and each can only be used once. Just request a fresh one at the sign-in page.

Repeated attempts trigger a short cooldown (about 15 minutes) — wait and try again. If you see an “access denied” or deactivated message, reach out to the commissioner to get it sorted.

The buy-in is $100 for the whole season. You pay the commissioner (Karl) directly — not through this website. Pick whichever method is easiest:

Once Karl records your payment, the “your buy-in hasn't been recorded” banner disappears from the home page and the grid, and your status updates on your profile. You'll also be assigned a priority number at that point.

You can't claim a square until your buy-in is marked paid. Payment is what sets your priority (your place in the picking order), so picking opens up once Karl records your payment.

Karl pays winners directly using the same methods above — Venmo is the most common, but tell him what works for you. When you win, you'll see a “Winner” tag on your square and the amount on the week page and on your profile. If a payout seems delayed, email the commissioner.

Squares are picked in priority order — the earlier you paid, the earlier you pick. When your turn arrives, you claim one open square on the grid, and it's yours for the season.

You'll get an email, and when you're signed in a bright orange banner appears across the top of the site (“It's your turn to pick”) with a live countdown. The grid shows the same prompt. Head there and tap any available square to claim it.

You get a set window — about 48 hours by default. The countdown on the turn banner shows exactly how long is left before your pick is auto-assigned.

No problem — when the window runs out, the system automatically assigns you a random open square, and emails you which one you got. The draft then moves on to the next person so nobody is held up.

Ownership is locked for the season, with one exception: if you were auto-assigned a square and the commissioner opens a swap window, you can trade it for any still-available square. You'll get an email if that happens, and the grid shows the swap deadline. Swapping is one-time. If there's no self-swap option, ask the commissioner before Week 1 kickoff.

No. Squares are lifelong. Once you've picked, that square is yours — you keep it season after season as long as you renew. Returning members don't draft again.

Usually your pick is instant. If the commissioner has turned on claim approval, your pick shows as pending until he confirms it. You can see and cancel a pending request on your profile.

Before every game the digits 0–9 are randomly re-drawn along both edges of the grid — fresh numbers each game. The away team's digits run down the rows and the home team's digits run across the columns.

Take the last digit of each team's final score. The square where the away team's digit (row) meets the home team's digit (column) is the winner. The final score includes overtime, and tie games count.

Example: if the Broncos win 27–24, the last digits are 7 and 4 — the 7–4 square wins.

Automatically about 48 hours (2 days) before kickoff. Until then the grid shows a faint 1–0 placeholder, not the real digits. The home page and grid show a countdown to the lock, and once they lock you get a “numbers locked” email with your square's digits for that game.

Sometimes. Most games pay on the final score, but the commissioner can enable quarter checkpoints (end of Q1, halftime, Q3) for certain games. When a game has extra checkpoints, each one has its own winning square and payout — they're shown on that week's page.

On the grid, your own squares are tinted, and each cell shows the owner's name. The matchup header marks which team is rows vs. columns, and after a game the winning square is highlighted. Use the week dropdown or the prev/next arrows to look at other weeks.

Live scores pull from ESPN about every 10 minutes during a Broncos game. The week detail page auto-refreshes about every minute while a game is live, and signed-in users can hit “Refresh now” to force an update. Winners are computed automatically once the game is final.

It depends on the pool size and the type of game. The prize pool is split 68% regular season / 15% playoffs / 17% Super Bowl. Exact per-game base payouts and the odds are laid out on the rules page.

Only 20–33 of the 100 squares are owned, so often no one owns the winning square. When that happens the prize carries over into the next game — and carryovers stack. A 3-game carryover triples the payout; a 5-game streak means 5×. Anything still unwon rolls all the way to the Super Bowl.

You own 1 square out of 100, so it's roughly a 1% chance per game and about a 22% chance of winning at least once in a season. Most seasons you won't hit — but when you do, stacked carryovers often make it a big one. Full breakdown on the rules page.

The weekly matchups page shows each week's pot, any carryover rolled in, and the winners. The home page lists recent winners, and your personal winning history is on your profile. Past seasons live in history, and the all-time record book is the Ring of Fame.

For the Super Bowl the board expands to all 100 squares so every possible score combination is covered. The extra squares are split evenly among all participants, with any remainder handed out in priority order — so most people end up with more than one square for the big game.

Yes. The Super Bowl absorbs every remaining carryover, so the whole pool is paid out. Nothing carries into next season — it's a clean slate every year.

Your priority is your place in line, based on when you first paid — first to pay gets the lowest number and picks first. It sets both your draft order and your Super Bowl extra-square order. The priority list is public on the rules page.

Each year, returning members get a renewal invitation by email with a deadline (announced well in advance). Confirm and pay by the deadline — 11:59 PM Mountain Time on the date given — to keep your priority and your square. Miss it and your spot may go to the next person on the waitlist.

Open the link from your email (no sign-in needed). It shows your priority number, the buy-in, and the deadline, with I'm In / I'm Out buttons — you can change your answer until the deadline. Tap I'm In, then pay the $100 to lock your spot.

With the commissioner's approval, yes — typically before the season starts. Ownership and priority transfer together. Ask Karl if you're considering it.

Yes — join the waitlist. When a spot opens (for example, if someone doesn't renew in time), you'll get an email. You then have 48 hours to claim it before it passes to the next person, and you pay the $100 to lock it in.

The waitlist page shows the current list and positions. Your email is only used to notify you about open spots and is never shown publicly.

Yes, anytime — even during the playoffs. You pay the full $100 buy-in and become eligible for all remaining games (not ones already played). Your entry also grows the prize pool for everyone.

Go to your profile and edit your display name, nickname, and (optionally) phone, then Save. Set a name before you appear on the grid — otherwise you show up to everyone as your email address.

On your profile, use the email-change form. A 6-digit confirmation code is sent to the new address; enter it to confirm, then sign out and sign back in with your new email.

All on your profile: your square(s) and their paid status, any pending pick requests, and your full winning history for the season.

Only if the commissioner has enabled self-release — in which case a Release button appears next to your square on your profile. Otherwise squares are locked for the season; contact Karl if you need a change.

Depending on where you are in the season, you might receive:

• Sign-in codes and account emails (email-change confirmations) — always sent.
• Draft & picking: your invite, your pick-turn notice, an auto-assign notice if you miss it, and a swap-window notice.
• Each game week: a “numbers locked” email with your square's digits (~48h before kickoff), a winner email if you hit, and a weekly recap.
• Membership: payment reminders, renewal invitations, and waitlist updates.

Yes. On your profile, under Email preferences, there are three switches:

• Pool activity — pick turns, weekly recaps, digit-lock alerts, winner notifications, waitlist updates.
• Weekly “numbers locked” emails — muted on its own so you can keep the rest.
• Announcements — waitlist confirmation and renewal invitations.

Every non-essential email also has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Sign-in codes and account-required emails can't be muted — the pool needs them to work.
