Help & FAQ
Quick answers for the most common questions. If you don't see yours, email the commissioner.
Signing in
- How do I sign in?
- Go to /login, enter the email the commissioner has on file for you, and check your inbox for a 6-digit code. Enter the code or click the magic link — both work. Codes expire in 10 minutes.
- The code never arrived.
- Check spam. Whitelist
noreply@mail.karlbonitz.comandkarlbonitz@msn.comwith your email provider. If it's still not there after a minute, request a new one from the sign-in page. If repeated tries fail, email the commissioner. - I clicked an old magic link and got an error.
- Sign-in codes and links expire after 10 minutes. Just request a fresh one at /login.
The draft
- When is it my turn?
- You'll get an email when the picker rotation reaches you. The grid page will show a banner saying it's your turn. Sign in, head to /grid, and tap any available square to claim it.
- I missed my turn — what happens?
- After the timeout window, the system auto-assigns a random square to you. You'll get an email letting you know which one. If a swap window is open later, you can trade your auto-assigned square for any still-available one.
- Can I swap squares?
- Only if you were auto-assigned and the commissioner has opened a swap window. You'll get an email if so. The grid will show a banner with the swap deadline.
Payment
- How do I pay my buy-in?
- Karl accepts any of the following — pick whichever's easiest for you:
- Venmo
- Zelle
- PayPal
- Apple Pay (iMessage)
- Cash App
- Facebook Pay (Messenger)
- Cash (in person)
- Check
- How do I know I'm marked paid?
- The grid page hides the “your buy-in hasn't been recorded” banner once the commissioner marks you paid. You can also check your status on /me.
- How do I get paid when I win?
- Karl pays out via any of the methods listed above — Venmo is the most common, but tell him what works best for you. You'll see “Winner” on your square and a winning amount in the week detail. If a payout is delayed, email the commissioner.
The grid & results
- When do scores update?
- The site pulls live scores from ESPN about every 10 minutes while a Broncos game is happening. Reload /grid or the week detail page to see the latest. Winners are computed automatically after the game ends.
- How do the numbers work?
- Each game, the 0–9 digits along the axes are randomly re-drawn. After the game, the winning square is the one where the away team's last digit and home team's last digit (of the final score) intersect. See /rules for the full breakdown.
- What's a carryover?
- If no one owns the winning square (because some squares are unowned or unpaid), the prize money rolls into the next game. Carryovers stack — a 3-game carryover triples the payout. Any leftover at the end of the season pays out through the Super Bowl.
